SAP Business One and Odoo implementation — from scope to go-live
I lead the implementation on the company's side: I define the scope, coordinate with the implementation partner, and oversee configuration, data migration and training, so the system runs on your processes, not on a template. In Odoo, I build the add-ons you need in Python, so all your work stays in one system.
I led SAP Business One implementations at NAF Company, and across several business units at Sabk Aljusore.
01The problem
Most SAP Business One setbacks don't come from the system itself. They come from a scope nobody wrote down, legacy data migrated as it was, and a configuration built on the partner's template instead of the company's processes.
Who it is for
- You've chosen SAP Business One or Odoo and want an implementation that fits how you work.
- Implementation has started with the partner, and the schedule is slipping while the scope grows.
- The system is live, but manufacturing, HR and reporting sit outside it.
02What the engagement includes
- Scope and modules defined, your processes mapped to the system, gaps written down
- Implementation partner coordinated, schedule followed weekly
- A governance framework for migrating legacy data, protecting its integrity at cutover
- Integration with manufacturing, HR and other systems
- Odoo add-ons in Python for what the standard system does not cover, instead of separate side tools
- Daily reports for every department: SQL queries, Crystal Reports and Power BI dashboards
- Training, acceptance tests and go-live
03Stages
- 01 Scope Modules, processes and gaps, written down.
- 02 Configuration The system on your processes, module by module.
- 03 Migration Legacy data under clear integrity controls.
- 04 Go-live Training, acceptance tests, then launch.
04Before you choose
SAP Business One or Odoo?
I compare the two on four criteria, starting from your written requirements.
- 01 The modules you actually need Finance, inventory, purchasing and production, or whatever is specific to your business.
- 02 The cost over several years Licences, implementation, support and development, counted year by year.
- 03 The implementation and support partner Who will implement it, where their team is, and who answers you after go-live.
- 04 Integration with your systems Manufacturing, HR, and any other system you run today.

06Common questions
Are you an official SAP partner?
No, and that's deliberate. The implementation partner sells and configures the system; I stand on your side: I define what you need and make sure what's delivered matches what you agreed.
SAP Business One or Odoo?
I don't start with the system but with your written requirements. I compare the two on clear criteria, and you get a recommendation you can defend in front of management.
How long does implementation take?
It depends on the number of modules and how ready your data is. I start by defining the scope, and you get a written schedule before any commitment.
Do you work with systems other than SAP?
Yes, Odoo among them. The principle is the same for every system: written requirements, one approved source for every number, and acceptance against what was signed.
